1st Turn: [Accidental Voice/Action]
[There is a man in the woods. His hair is a mess, and his clothes are way too plain for his liking. Residents would recognize him as a new feather--he just thinks he had way, way too many drinks the night before.
Somehow he lost his jacket.
And his shoes.
And his composure.
His only clue was that book he found--that annoying book. It wasn't useful at all.
Arsene Lupin III throws that book to the ground, swearing. It lands open, with its pages in the dirt.]
Aagh...this isn't working. [There's a shuffle of pages--he's kicked the book.] Guess I gotta regroup. Eeegh. Woods, Lupin. Think!
Looks like walking north isn't enough. [He starts pacing] And without a map...aa, this is really annoying. [The pacing stops--he has an idea.]
HEY!! IS THERE ANYONE AROUND HERE!? WHAT IS THIS PLACE?!
[Because shouting is such a productive idea...at least he feels a little better.]
Action
Some of the people really are basically gods in their own worlds. And they're still trapped like the rest of us. People try to get out all the time, but the barrier is impossible to bypass. Michelangelo and I stalked some of their robot kidnappers when they took Raphael, but they disappear into nowhere. No smoke bomb, no anything. There was this thing recently where someone got one of their bots to cut open and so they were trying to scavenge the technology from it, but swarms of the buggers came to get it back. People only get sent out when the Malnosso feel like it.
[Bites her bottom lip in thought. It's trembling a little. She's genuinely scared, and for all her tough act, it's still leaking through here and there.] I'm going to go on some of their missions. Not really compliance, but they're not always terrible. Some of it seems like they just have a twisted idea of humor. And they reward decently. [Casts eyes downward. She doesn't want to hear him yell at her for giving up. She hasn't, but what's the point of shooting the walls continuously?] Sometimes it's better to make the most of it, right?
There's a few factions here. People who want to disrupt their experiments, but that's basically impossible. Besides, if the experiment isn't concluded successfully, they'd just repeat it and that's even more annoying. Most people are focused more on how to deal with the drafts. Everyone's got some idea or another, each more ridiculous than the last. Like signing a petition asking the Malnosso to only take volunteers. Or just laying down to die. [Shrug.] Actually, who knows. Maybe the petition did work after all. They have those missions now and stuff. And the Shifts... most of them are kind of funny afterwards. Most of them.
You can talk that weird Malnosso named Charlotte. Whenever he decides to show his face that is.
Action
It was heartening to know that, even though they were in the hands of people who could throw moons around at will, their jobs weren't easy for them to do.
He did touch her this time, and held her shoulders firmly in his hands. Lupin made eyecontact, and matched the serious tone of the words she was saying.]
This sounds like a mess, Fujiko. I'm still not sure I totally get everything yet, but I'm here now. We can figure something out.
And...for the record. I am sorry.
[For what, he couldn't entirely say. He had no fault in this, and no control. But, he could see where Fujiko would have problems with it, and saw where he would have some himself. Whatever her thoughts, whatever her deeds...he didn't blame her. He may have come to the same conclusion if he were in her shoes. He may very well end up repeating some of the things she had already done.
It was too much to think about. Their meeting shouldn't be burdened with this heaviness. It made him want to watch Casablanca again.
He cracked a smile, trying to lighten the mood.]
Michaelangelo and Raphael, huh? So they nabbed some Renaissance painters. Did they at least grab Leonardo da Vinci? It sounds like you might be able to help him rig up a flying machine. Did they grab Nikola Tesla too? It sounds like we could use that death ray of his right now.
Action
He should really watch Casablanca with her. It was the first dvd she nabbed when they started getting such things in Luceti. Besides, she could use a good cry for the 30th time.]
Not quite. [Grins at the joke anyway.] They were turtles named after the painters. Named by that rat I mentioned actually. It's a long story. Donatello is still here. He's dating that Robert kid. It's kind of adorable. [Don't ask Lupin, just don't ask.]
Action
[He considers this for a moment, and bursts out laughing.]
You know? I don't thik I wanna know!
[Turtles...Gods...Fujiko being there, wings, and a book that was a magic laptop...thing. This was a lot to think about. But the night was still young, and he saw that he would be there for a while. That's enough time to figure things out.
He breathed again, and pulled away before Fujiko could change her mind.]
Anyway, you know what's up. Lead the way, ma cherie!
Action
You just want the excuse to grope me don't you? [Teasing of course, however true it might be or not.]
Action
Ah! You wound me with your words! Why would I ever do that?!
Action
As if she needs it.]You wouldn't? Oh dear~ I must be losing my touch. [Teases and flirts even though if he does she might slap him anyway. It's just sort of her thing. Sadly.]
Action
Lupin shook his head. There was no way to win against a woman.]
Fujikoooo. I love you, but I really want to get out of the cold right now, and get something to eat. Maybe we can watch Casablanca, though, and catch up on 'old times' then.
[He does smile and wink. That's all though.]
Action
Stop saying that... Hah... Okay... [Tries to hide the blush by running ahead. How embarrassing. She definitely couldn't let him see her like this.] Food and Casablanca... how did you know I had that? [Stop knowing her too well. Just because she was stuck in one place for over a year doesn't mean she compiled Casablanca and all the James Bond movies and is hard at "work" trying to get the Mario Bros. videogames from Japan... oh wait, yes it does. It means exactly that of course. And he's had more than enough time to know all this about her. She just hates that everything fits like it belongs so easily around him.]
Action
Lupin picks up his pace to catch up to her.]
Lucky guess....I figured that you'd have it if it's available. If possible, I'm probably going to pick up a few Bogart films myself. Or the Princess Bride. These people from other worlds need to see the Princess Bride if they have't already.
[He'd also like to talk further over food. Maybe she knew general things, like the lay of the land, or important people to try to get to know.
Or, maybe, she had an idea buried in that pretty little head of hers. Not that she would say without a little cajoling.]
Action
There are some pretty decent restaurants here. Run on a volunteer thing by cooks and chefs who get bored. Azzip has good pizza, though it changed owners, there's Ucchan's Okonomiyaki, and you'd probably want to stop by the 7th Heaven. That changed owners too, I'm not really sure who runs it now. [Which means she's slightly more paranoid about it, but not enough to starve. Besides Lupin gets to be the taste tester to deal with poisons.]
