13th Turn [Action/Written]
[It was cold.
That was his first thought when he woke up in the woods surrounding the Barracks, literally sprawled out in the trees. The cold air bit into his bare hands, stung his ears and his cheeks, and made him miss the summery heat and exotic beaches that were starting to disappear back into his subconscious. This wasn’t the tropics; this was Luceti.
Sleep never looked more welcoming.
It was only when Lupin started to move that he noticed that something important in the world was terribly off. The branches were too big—and where was his coat? The coat was important, and he didn't care about what the Malnosso thought...
He stared at his hand, dumbfounded, when he caught sight of it. Seconds later he yelped in sheer shock and tumbled from the tree and into the snow.

...someone was going to pay for this own.
Chirping and chattering in irritation, Lupin pulled himself from the snow. Anyone care to give a monkey a hand?]
[Later that evening, after he has been returned to his apartment with both himself and his journal intact, Lupin scrawled out a message for the village at large:]
[Written]
Lucky you, Luceti. Looks like I’m not gone yet.
What's the date? I thought they were going to let me spend the winter in Rio, so I wasn't expecting snow.
Did I miss anything?
-Lupin III
[He snaps the book shut at this. Goddamn he needed a drink. And a smoke. Not that he was going to get either soon--because he was a good monkey, and good monkeys don't smoke.]

[He frowned as he wrote it out-- the irony wasn't lost on him. They gave him a sweet, sweet dream, and then they made a part of it a reality. This was a true lesson on being careful about wishes.]
no subject
Far be it from him to question someone's dreams...
Though Lupin was lucky that the coffee machine 'clicked' its readiness.
Spock found a mug, and filled it a quarter of the way...]
Cream?
no subject
Milk. In the kitchen down the hall.
[Cream was too heavy, not to his taste, and he had no idea how the coffee would be handled. Lupin simply craved for somethingt that was warm.]
no subject
...soon returning with a carton of milk, to which he poured a bit into Lupin's coffee...]
Is it to your liking?
Shall I find an appropriate covering for you? [Spock was at a loss... he wanted to help his friend, but Lupin was so darn stubborn about everything...]
no subject
blankets. and company. and laptop.
please.
[He hadn't told Spock about his computer yet--but this was as good a time as any.]
no subject
Ah, you are in possession of a portable computer? May I ask how?
I presume it is in your room?
no subject
Missions. Remember when I went to the Depot?
no subject
He returned with it and a small blanket... both of which he placed on the table.
With deft fingers he spread out the blanket, and folded it so it was more Lupin's size... and placed it around the small monkey's shoulders, successfully cocooning him in the warm fleece...
Spock opened the laptop and placed it in front of him... and took a seat by the table.]

He peered in at the liquid for a moment, staring hard at the milky depths as he briefly wondered about how far the Malnosso would go to annoy him. Cigarettes and bourbon were obviously out of the question, but how did diluted coffee factor in? What about chocolate milk?
Everything that he wanted was a little terrible for him.
Screw waiting. Lupin tipped the mug just enough so that he could take a sip of that warm coffee that he was craving...
...and gagged. It did not taste right!]
no subject
The Vulcan stood...]
Are you alright Sa-kai?
[Spock observed the situation, and looked from the monkey to the coffee and raised an eyebrow...]
It is my hope that you see this as a lesson in when not to be stubborn? [He knew that the coffee would not agree with tastes of small creature.]
no subject
It wasn't near as bad as when they took Jigen and Zenigata away from him, but it was only a few ranks below.
Still petulant, Lupin lifted both his hands up in an expression of defeat.
Spock. You take over.]
no subject
Please, excuse me for a moment.
[Spock leaves.... only to return a few moments later with a heated glass filled with a warm, creamy liquid...and places it in front of Lupin.]
Warm coconut milk... I believe it will agree with your senses more than caffeine.
no subject
But the complaints were less cathartic when he wasn't able to properly speak. Lupin regarded the coconut milk for a moment before he looked back up at Spock, not certain that it would be much better. Awkwardly, he scratched out another note:]
I don't want to get sick.
no subject
You have a different anatomy now Sa-kai... I guarantee that this will not disagree with your system.
[Spock would be amused if didn't know how frustrated Lupin was about being turned into a monkey....
However, he needed food, and to be warm... this will do both.]
no subject
The weird balance he had attained with Spock was his new normal.
Sighing, he tipped the mug forward and took a sip--and found that Spock was right. It was too rich for his tastes, but it didn't have the same bitter bite of the coffee. Another sigh. After a year in Luceti, was he really reduced to a monkey that was drinking coconut milk?]
no subject
Spock nods and leaves once more... to return with various fruits that he could find and starts to chop them up into manageable pieces.]
I left a note.... I will replace the food later today.
[Spock puts all the pieces into a bowl, and places it in front of Lupin...
...and hesitates....]
If you wish it, I will stay here while you are in this form...
no subject
Lupin set the mug back into position and hopped over to his computer to quickly open up a document so he could type everything out.]
Stay. You think a computer is the only thing I got? There's also a projector, a copy of Casablanca, and a wall.
Wanted to watch it for Christmas anyway. Why not now?
~aw~ so cute!
I am amenable to that suggestion. [Spock heads back to Lupin's room to collect the projector... and sets it up in the living-room. He brought with him other blankets... to make a pile where Lupin can sit, and takes the computer and places it on the coffee table.
This was... rather agreeable. Spock couldn't help the half-smile that graced his face.]
:3
He could feel that old restlessness stirring. For the moment he could wait and relax-- he popped the DVD into the drive with an amused little chitter and settled into the blankets, but not without tapping out another message onto the screen.]
They're not going to come out clean after this. You in?
A blast as always m'dear~
Of course.
