11th Turn [Written/Action]
Luceti.
Two things:
1. Whoever it was that found my work shop, return the pieces that you stole before the end of the day. I’ll be in the Barracks. If you fail to comply, I will find you.
It won’t be pretty.
2. What do the rest of you think about the last Shift? Was it good or bad? How did the loss of memory affect you? Do you think it left any long-term impact for yourself, your friends, and the rest of your stay in this village?
-Also. Prism Black. You deserve to be commended for your heroism. Never forget that.
Filtered to Trafalgar Law: Unhackable
I have a problem and I’d like a second opinion on it. It’s not big, but it could become complicated.
-I’d promise coffee, but I have an unrelated problem with getting it. I’ll be in the barracks.
[True to his word, Lupin will be in the barracks all day. His encounter with Spock on Monday, combined with his activities from earlier in the week had finally caught up to him. Fatigue was inevitable. He had spent the better part of the last few days asleep, never very far from his new charge. The veritable plague of crows that had been set upon him by an angered god was an unnecessary incentive. He kept the windows shut, locked away the gnawing need for a cigarette that bit at the back of his mind, and tried to ignore the judgement he saw reflected in the eyes of his avian watchmen—but he would have stayed close to the barracks regardless of their looming (and aggravating) presence.
While the days spent between dreams and fleeting considerations over recent affairs had rejuvenated him, it didn't stop the inherent restlessness that was his constant foe—the core problem that would never entirely leave. The people who knew him would be able to identify the briskness of his step and the cool control with which he held every action and every word. He was distracted by a new project , one that was completely foreign to him, and was unwilling to divulge details until the proper time came.
The thief had returned to work, but nothing was as it seemed.]

i hope your friends and everyone else who is sad do cheer up soon. smiles are what we need the most in this village because people can forget how to be happy far to easily.
written.
Well maybe we should all do something fun this month!
written.
something fun might be enough to remind people that they have friends around. and to smile, of course.
written. she likes drawing hearts.
I have heard there is a holiday called Halloween this month!!!!
written. awww
written.

People also like to have parties on Halloween. They share food and candy, or they play music and dance. It's a very old holiday from my home, and it was supposed to be a way to drive away bad luck and honor our departed ancestors. What better way to honor them than by having a party, right?
written.
I think driving away bad luck would be something lots of people would want to do, and also I think that sounds like a really good idea!! Maybe everyone would cheer up with a Halloween party?
written.
I agree, a party with friends is what we need after this. It doesn't have to be big. spending time with family and those you consider family works too.
written.
Yes I agree!! Are you going to have a party with your friends?
written.
I think I will have a party with my friends. Just a little one, but it's hard to plan things like that around here.
written.
I think people just need to be flexible in planning! If you forget about the party or something happens on the day you want it, just have it the next available day!
written.
[But her innocence...there was no way that he could explain to her the fight he was currently embroiled in, nor the complications that the Shift had left him with.]
I'll remember that the next time we have a problem with planning a party, Ikki. A little flexibility is always a good thing!
written.
It is! You have to move with the breeze, not against it!
[ have some airbender wisdom, Lupin, free of charge ]
written.
That's a very good way to look at life. Too bad more people don't see that.
written.
written.
i follow a similar path in my career. it's all about finding the simplest method of action to cause the greatest effect, and about using a person's strength and size against them. there is no airbending involved in that line of thought because it can be used daily.
[And he had been fighting against the wind since dropping into Luceti. It had taken him a year to even start realizing this, because his entire life was acting against the order.]
written.
I know a girl who is having trouble learning airbending and it is probably because she does not dance with the wind but tries to make it listen to her without listening back!
written.
[He was 'speaking' to himself at that point, using the medium as a means of processing his thoughts. For one so young, she was learning about complicated concepts that many adults had trouble grasping.]
that idea can be used by anyone though, not just air nomads. philosophies can be shared between cultures.
written.
I think it is okay to be afraid of following the air currents and of what you might find out but even if you are afraid you have to go forward and see what there is to see or you might be afraid for no reason!
Also that is true! You can learn a lot from people and in Luceti that is very true because of all the different worlds.
written.
He couldn't ignore his anticipation for the next Shift. Though aggravating, it was something different. A change.
Lupin was starting to wonder if Luceti was itself a change. Maybe Ikki had a point...
But stillness was hard for him to accept.]
All of the worlds here are different, and some of them have a way of life that cannot be mimicked here. How have you managed to keep up your training with airbending in our village? Are there some things from your home, besides family, that you miss?
written.
Usually we practice in the morning, after breakfast. Grandpa also practices his other elements, but that's when he isn't with me.
I miss a lot of things from home! I think one of the things I miss most is our animals. Luceti has the animals that are Earth animals, which are sort of like half of any of ours, because I guess our world has animals most people do not have! Momo and Appa and Hawky are all here, and that is nice, but sometimes I miss sparrowkeets and turtle-ducks and the things we'd see at home. People give me weird looks when I try to explain them normally and I do not always know which animals they are talking about but I am learning the Earth animals as I go!! Shikamaru helped me with a lot of them!
Our island was a temple, too. It is in the name of Air Temple Island! I miss the air acolytes and the things that we did there, because Luceti is not very much like a temple. Although I do have my grandpa's prayer beads and we do meditation with training! But I miss hearing the prayers at certain hours and the acolytes used to make incense at the island and it had a smell that was very much home, you know? And I miss the library and the greenhouses and feeding the winged lemurs and eating with everyone!
But even though I miss those things, I would miss a lot of things from here too, if I remembered when I went back which I guess I would not.
1/2
Holy hell that's a lot of words for a kid to write!]
2/2
How do you go about handling the parts of your world that you miss?
written.
Handling? Well I do prayers with grandpa's beads myself and such, but I do not know what you mean actually! I think it would be impossible not to miss things but when I think about the things I miss I think about the things here that I would miss.
[ If she were talking, she'd have to pause. Since she isn't, she just swaps colours, fron pencil to crayon, like that'll make what follows any less distressing. ]
The things that I would miss here are my grandpa and my Uncle Sokka and my Aunt Toph and Uncle Roku, because at home I would not see any of them, because they are not there. They were there in some ways because I heard lots of stories about them but the reason I knew what grandpa looked like was because his statue is outside of the island and because there are pictures of him because he saved our world before I was born! There are statues of Aunt Toph and Uncle Sokka, too.
Since I have been here I have gotten to talk to these people and hug them and play games with them and these and things that make up for anything at all I could ever miss because I really, really used to wish I'd get to see them someday even if that was really impossible and now it isn't impossible and maybe that is why it is very easy to be happy about this place, because it cannot be all bad if it lets me meet people I love very much! Since I have been here I have learned airbending from Grandpa and Uncle Sokka gave me chocolate I'd never had before and told me stories I'd never heard before and Aunt Toph and I had chocolate cake together and made wire pictures! Every day I get to wake up and spend time with all of them!
I would also miss the people I have met here, who I would not have met if I were not here, either. This place is a good place because it has Vivi and Shikamaru and Rapunzel and Uncle Luke and Xzana and Ventus and Sifu Raine and Smoker and everyone else! It has you, and you are fun to talk to, too! I have gotten to do lots of fun things with everyone and even if there are sad things I think that is okay!!
It is true that there are things that are not here, but there are many, many more things that are here!!! I like to think about those!
