Hey, Luceti.

[The thief speaks clearly over the public audio feeds very suddenly that night, with a level of calm that is surprising for some residents he spoke with over his most recent transmission. There's no laughter in his tone, nor any bitterness. He speaks as if he were holding a casual conversation.]

I just wanted to let you know, for those of you who knew him, that Detective Inspector Zenigata Koichi has returned home. Don't worry--he's just gone back to doing what he does best, even if he hasn't yet succeeded. Never let there be a doubt, he is the best damn officer that the ICPO has to offer. 

We're down another lawdog, guys, but we'll manage. Let's make the old bastard proud!

Also...he wasn't here for very long, so I don't know how many people he knew, but Jigen Daisuke has also returned home. Don't worry for him either, because its better for him to be out of here. He's quiet, but places like this never got on well with him.

If you want to honor them in some way, have a few drinks and a few smokes. If that's not your thing, then have a bowl of Miso Ramen for Pops. It's his favorite dish.

Captain? Pops left you something if you want to come get it.

[Considering recent weeks and the whirlwind of events, Lupin appeared to be taking the loss of two of his best friends rather well. Residents of Community House 5 would have noticed the sheer delay he took in actually investigating Zenigata's apartment on the third level. Whether out of physical necessity or his own misplaced lonliness, Lupin spends the night there.]

[July 10: Action]

[Residents of the village will be able to catch Lupin between several places the next day, largely in the area around Community House 5, the Barracks, and the Battle Dome. Although he's physically not fully adjusted to the current conditions left on him by the Malnosso, Lupin treks his way over to the Dome to make use of one of the simulation rooms for target practice. His aim went with his balance, and he intended to rectify that as soon as possible. Acquaintances could call him out on his poor coping skills once more, but that won't stop him from trying.

It's late afternoon by the time he's satisfied enough to leave, although he doesn't quite make it back to his room. Wandering villagers will find him napping anywhere around the Barracks or Community House 5, although a preference for sleeping under or in trees is noticeable. Just...don't ask him if he needs a hand.

If his refusal for aid is unaccepted, he will not be directing people to his apartment in the community building, but to House 46 on the other side of town.

His friends insisted on the change, and he was in no position to argue.]

[ Tenten delivers a heavy sigh before continuing. Investigator Zenigata was one of her most favorite people in Luceti. ] Thank you for telling me. [ She isn't sure what else to say. This put a pretty huge damper in her day. ] I don't drink or smoke, but if you need any help with anything, please let me know.

You're welcome, Tenten. [He wasn't surprised that the lawful kunoichi had an association with the old Inspector. Though he didn't know her well, her sorrow was apparent to him through the audio feed.]

Don't be sad about it. He's an old man, and he has a lot of fight in him. There's still a dream he needs to fulfill back at home, [Catching Lupin,] so he has a lot left to do.

...There was nothing for him to arrest here. No action. Stolid as he is, he enjoys that kind of thing too.

[He sighs, realizing that he's mostly talking for himself. Verbalizing helps him think, even if his 'wall' is a hapless teenage girl.]

Even if you don't drink or smoke, you can have yourself a bowl of miso ramen and try to follow his ideal. You'll do his old heart proud.

[ Despite the fact that Tenten may not interact with the old inspector and the people from his world, she has a deep care for all of them. They've been so nice from what she's seen! From Lupin to Fujiko that helped her out when she first arrived and influenced her to talk to Goemon about swords, to the inspector, they're all like a crazy family and she thinks of herself as a family friend.






It's weird. ] Well, he can't really catch you if you're here right? I mean, I guess he can try to catch the you when you return and stuff. [ Or however time works at Luceti. ] And I know, he's probably a lot happier not in Luceti, like we all are. But it's always sad when a friend leaves.

[ Tenten isn't aware that he's musing to himself. She thinks it's actual conversation. Oops. ] I'll be sure to have some tonight. If I have any left... [ Damn your love for ramen, Naruto. ] He was a great man with a great sense of justice. He wasn't a typical "do it for the glory" type of guy. He just really wanted to help. Thank you for the compliment. [ It means a lot to be compared to the inspector!! ]

...I've heard that we're returned to the exact moment we left at, so you don't need to worry about Pops not having anyone to chase. This is a weird pocket universe, really. You don't need to worry about that either--though, I doubt either of us will ever really win.

And it's not a compliment if it's true. You're a smart girl, with strong morals. He would be proud...we just have to remember his sense of justice.

[weaponry]

I've heard that too. I can only hope that's true in that case. [ There's a soft smile accompanied by her statement. ]

A compliment can be true. I mean, I praise Tsunade-sama all the time for her strength and she's the strongest woman in the world. And, I know, he does have a great sense of justice but most of Konoha has one too. [ They just breed a crazy person every generation or two. ]

So you understand, then. [He smiles.] Good.

We're gonna need people with that sense of justice around here to pick up the slack. Smoker can't do it all on his own, you know.

[weaponry]

Of course. Which is why me or any Konoha civillian will be happy to keep the public safe. So long as you're stealing stuff that belongs to Luceti, or weapons of mass destruction so bad guys don't use them, we're fine. [ She's more lenient than Zenigata!! I hope!! ]

[Lupin laughs--Tenten was going to hate him in the future, if that was the case.]

I'll keep that in mind, Ten-chan, and I'll try to do my part too. Pops deserves nothing less.

[ She probably will. ]

But aren't you a thief? How can you do your part? [ By supplying the injustice....? ]

There's nothing worth my time to steal around here. May as well find something else that's productive to do around here, right?

[weaponry]

So you're going to become a man that fights for good?! [ wonderful! maybe he'll get used to the life style and become a full on great citizen! ]

Please--don't insult me!

[But he's grinning. Clearly his plans, whatever they are, will remain on the covert level until the time he sees fit to go public.]

Well, then what are you doing?

[ She recognizes that grin!! That usually means she's close to getting the right answer! Or, that's what she hopes, at least. ]

It's no fun for me if I tell anyone!

But it's no fun for anyone else if you keep it to yourself! Things like this should be shared and celebrated with everyone!
