2nd Turn: [Video/Action]
[The video feed opens to a slightly manic grin on the face of the (in)famous thief, Arsene Lupin III. He is dressed in his usual attire of a brilliant red suit jacket and--mysteriously--is carrying a jitte that definitely does not belong to him. The only other thing that seems out of order is his hair which, although hastily shoved into place with the aid of water, appears intent on not staying in its usual slicked back style. That is not what draws the viewer's attention--it's the high energy, mischievous look in his eyes.
The camera wobbles slightly. He's at the fountain, and very obviously walking circles around the perimeter of it. He starts to speak, brandishing the jitte around as he makes his points.]
Good Morning, People of Luceti!! I've been here for a couple of weeks now, and I thought it was high time I made my official introduction to the rest of you. You may have heard mentions of me from a certain Sassy Little Kitten, Mine Fujiko, or from a certain determined Old Man, Inspector Zenigata Koichi--rest assured. I am here now. Any complaints you may have heard about me from them is now, from this day forward, thus alleviated.
Oh, but you'll be wanting my name, won't you? I am the One, the Only, Arsene Lupin III--international man of mischief and connoisseur of fine art and wine! Ladies, ladies. Take your time. You'll get your turn soon enough!
Now, now. Since we're all trapped in this place, and since I'm sure my reputation has preceeded me, feel free to contact me if you need a partner for a job or just someone to ease your lonliness. I may be a rogue, but I don't bite.
Hard.
[His tone hardens at this point, taking on an edge of knife-like severity. Underneath the mischief in his eyes lies a bold determination and aura of command.]
And, to any unseen and unheard audiences out there who may be listening in, I warn you: I won't stop at anything, I won't be quiet, and I won't make your job easy. I don't know what you were thinking in bringing me here, and I don't think I want to know. Keep in mind, though, that I'm very capable of making your lives miserable.
[He lets the words hang in the air for a lengthy beat, staring hard into the camera. Then, as quickly as it came, the mood vanished.]
Oh. Pops. I think I kinda grabbed your Jitte there. You can have it back when you want it--but I can see why you bring it around some times. It's pretty fun to wave around! [He grins like an idiot as he ends his announcement.]

Besides, I'll have you know that many, many of the men she has associated with over the years have either used Fujiko and our other partners to try to kill me, or tried to kill me themselves.
...you do realize that she's probably had more boyfriends and fiances than you can count on both of your hands, right?
[He was definitely not playing nice with Fujiko when they met up later that night. He expected talk, not lies and slander!]
no subject
Why did you steal her fiance anyways?!
no subject
[Don't get him started on all of the variables. They always ended very badly for him too. Any other man wouldn't put up with this, but Lupin saw Fujiko's redeeming factors too.
For one, he liked a woman who kept him on his toes.]
...and...AND....That's none of your business!!!
no subject
And then comes the defensiveness, Tenten just sighs. ]
It is. If you're going to clear your name, speak.
no subject
He sighs.]
Okay, girlie, since you obviously won't listen to a man who is speaking the truth, what is it that you want to hear?
no subject

All right then, I'll let you in on a little secret here: it was never about any fiance for either of us. It was about paintings--rare, valuable paintings that the man in question paid for with the blood of innocent people.
...I beat Fujiko to them, under circumstances that lost their fun a little too quickly for me. You try being chased around by a perverted old man, and see how you feel!. Tch. Even Hugh Hefner has more class than that.
My point from before remains; the most common variable in all of my associations with Fujiko is treasures, usually something priceless. She's got a real eye for shiney, sparkly things, you know. It was never about jealousy or romantic situations torn straight from a Shakespearean comedy.
[He takes a breath as he lets the short version of that story sink in.]
Happy?

Though, there seems to be a lot of you guys running around this place, tch. Just like the ninjas.
no subject
[He pauses, and thinks of a certain ronin who is practically a ninja at her words.] Wait, we have ninjas here?
[He wasn't too surprised about the other thieves...afterall, what other profession is more fun to experiment upon than a bunch of greedy, selfish, and dishonest people?]
no subject
Yeah. Including myself and most of my friends from home. Actually, all of my friends here from home are ninjas.
[ they actually aren't thieves unless they're ordered to be! Unfortunately, Tenten doesn't know about him making that connection so she can't accurately affirm or deny that claim. ]
no subject
So, wait a second there. Is everyone where you come from a ninja or something? Or, do you just make friends with your coworkers and partners?
[First pirates, then Jedi, and now ninjas. Lupin is deeply curious indeed...]
no subject
Yeah. Sort of. There's pedestrians but ninjas are quite frequent. They're basically free lance people for the communities, or, they're soldiers and spies.
[ luceti is quite vast. ]
no subject
Even a cute thing like yourself is a ninja? Hmm...most of the ones I've met, if they're not out to kill me, are...more discreet in their tactics.
no subject
Eh, everyone that's employed by the village to fight as their military or protect the community counts as a ninja. So, while I do go on stealth missions from time to time, some of them are just protecting envoys, taking down criminals, or guarding something, or aiding people in sealing or retrieving an important artifact or even gardening if the person who's employing is that short on funds. It's a pretty... varied job, to say the least.
no subject
And your...'career' sounds pretty interersting. If it weren't for the difference in opinion over property and law, we might get along just fine!
no subject
[ She just shrugs. ]
As long as you aren't stealing from the people directly trapped here, I don't really care. The Malnosso deserves to be burglarized down to their underwear. [ what a delightful image... ]
no subject
[He gives the jitted a twirl again, wondering if there really was anything else that he's stolen. If there was...
Well. It was time that the Malnosso prepared for war.]
no subject
[ She just glances a bit curiously. She thought all possessions were taken upon entry. ]
no subject
[He wasn't a weapons nut; he was a treasure and adventure nut.]
no subject
no subject
['Friend' being a loose term in this case--Lupin really did respect the old law dog. Their opinions on laws and property tended to differ, but he knew that the respect was mutual.]
no subject
[ The most deep kind of fremenyship there is. Besides Kisame and Guy being Worthy Opponents! At least she has something to compare this! ]
no subject
[A pause.]
If you're done lecturing me, can I at least get your name? [He wasn't looking for ammunition for later dealings with Fujiko. So sir-ee.]
no subject
[ She is unaware of it, really, but, at the very least they can have somewhat more casual conversations in the future. ]
no subject
[Any tension, again, is not directed toward you. For the record, he hopes to not get lectured by any more cuties that he happens to stumble upon. He'd even be willing to teach the young kunoichi to dance, if she wanted.]
