Oh! W-well... I haven't had lunch yet, if you'd like to eat with me.

I'll get us lunch then.

[He could hear the blushing--it was adorable--but there was no backing out now.]

What's your favorite food?

Seaweed stew. [Mmm... warm and full of flavor.] B-but it's something I have to make. [There's not a lot of people in Luceti who consider sea weed a food category.]

...How about you surprise me?

Seaweed stew, huh...? [He trailed off as he thought about the kind of dish she suggested. It sounded almost Japanese. Almost.

It was possible that he could find someone in Luceti who made a similar dish.]

Tell you what. I'll be there soon with a surprise for you. See you this afternoon?

Take your time! Daisy-chin is out for today, so I'm just here working on orders.

[He arrived an hour later with a brown bag in hand. He had pushed one of the chefs in Seventh Heaven into making a particular soup for him. It was something he had tried a few times while wandering throughout Japan, and he thought that Keimi might like it.]

[Keimi immediately greets Lupin with a big hug, before wheeling herself back to the table where the rest of her orders sat. It mostly looked like piles of random fabric, but there were some that were beginning to resemble clothing.]

Sorry if things are a little cluttered. I've been trying to get as much work done as I can before the move.

[He gladly returned that hug before being led inside. It was only the second time that he had ever been in Daisy's apartment, and it was the only time when none of them were in a compromising position.]

The mess is fine. My flat is the same right now. Boxes and boxes everywhere...

Where did you want our food set down?

The kitchen table should be clear, if you want to set up there. I'm just finishing up on something, and I'll be right in, okay?

Sure thing.

[He went in on his own and began to set out their food. The people in Seventh Heaven were kind enough to pack the soup in two covered bowls, and add a pair of spoons. He also ordered a bowl of sticky white rice, for good measure, and made sure that they each had a pair of chopsticks.

If he was going to bring her a meal, he was going to do it right.]

[A few minutes later, Keimi wheels herself into the kitchen, a box in her lap tied with a red bow. She closes her eyes and takes a whiff of the air.]

Mm... something smells amazing.

[He laughed at her excited comment, absolutely delighted. It was such a simple thing, but being able to relax like this was always welcome.

There was no pressure. That was always a good thing.

Now that his hands were free, he peeled off his gloves and loosened the scarf around his neck. He didn't remove it, not yet. He wasn't exactly ready to risk his little gift being noticed.]

It's just a little something I asked one of the chefs in town to make up. I think you'll like it.

[She smiles graciously.] You did that for me? You're so kind, Lupin-chin~.

[She wheels herself closer to the table, before taking the box off of her lap and presenting it to her friend.]

I think this is what you came over for~?

Anything for you, Keimi-chan.

[She was Smoker's daughter, and a friend. That afforded her a manner of protection from him, should anything happen.

Lupin accepted the box with equal grace, and stopped for a moment to admire the wrapping.]

Is it? [A huff of amusement.] I have to say, the ribbon is beautiful!

[seakingbait]

[See that, Lupin? Keimi's eyes light up from the comment.]

Do you think so? I made it while I was practicing with silk. I think it came out alright.

[That just gave him more incentive.]

It came out great! Seriously, you've got a lot of talent here. I almost hate to untie now...

[Giggle.] Well if you don't want your jacket back...

[childish grin~]

Okay~ I guess I'll have to ruin the very, very pretty bow.

[He couldn't help it then. The ribbon was pulled off with the utmost attention and care to ensure that there were no snags or tears--it was a treasure that he wanted to save, like all of his gifts from his friends--and gently lifted the lid from the box.

His smile couldn't have been brighter.

Immediately he pulled off the green jacket that he had been wearing since March and he eagerly shrugged into the ever familiar red. Lupin heaved a satisfied sigh and wondered why he had even allowed the chaos of Luceti prevent him from doing this sooner.]

Keimi-chan. It fits perfectly.

It felt like his jacket. That was the most important detail.]

I'm so glad, Lupin-chin. I double- and triple-checked the measurements to make sure the fit was absolutely right. I even did a little research and was able to make it extra durable, without sacrificing comfort, so you shouldn't have to worry as much about it getting damaged. [She giggles.] Not that I'd mind making you a new one~.

I can tell.

[He stretched his arms and smiled in approval. The give and flexibility of the fabric were far better than he had anticipated for such a new piece.]

I'll ask you for a new jacket anytime, petite. It can be pink or black, doesn't matter. You're a fantastic seamstress, and I'll trust no one else.

[seakingbait]

[And all confidence is instantly shadowed beneath the red of a blush. She tries to keep composure, however, and motions a finger towards the flap of the jacket.]

O-oh, um... I did... make one modification, I hope you don't mind.

[Her embarrassed blush would never be anything but adorable.]

[He hadn't noticed any overt modifications, but looked at the place she had indicated to find...]
