1. Whoever it was that found my work shop, return the pieces that you stole before the end of the day. I’ll be in the Barracks. If you fail to comply, I will find you.

2. What do the rest of you think about the last Shift? Was it good or bad? How did the loss of memory affect you? Do you think it left any long-term impact for yourself, your friends, and the rest of your stay in this village?

I have a problem and I’d like a second opinion on it. It’s not big, but it could become complicated.

-I’d promise coffee, but I have an unrelated problem with getting it. I’ll be in the barracks.

[True to his word, Lupin will be in the barracks all day. His encounter with Spock on Monday, combined with his activities from earlier in the week had finally caught up to him. Fatigue was inevitable. He had spent the better part of the last few days asleep, never very far from his new charge. The veritable plague of crows that had been set upon him by an angered god was an unnecessary incentive. He kept the windows shut, locked away the gnawing need for a cigarette that bit at the back of his mind, and tried to ignore the judgement he saw reflected in the eyes of his avian watchmen—but he would have stayed close to the barracks regardless of their looming (and aggravating) presence.

While the days spent between dreams and fleeting considerations over recent affairs had rejuvenated him, it didn't stop the inherent restlessness that was his constant foe—the core problem that would never entirely leave. The people who knew him would be able to identify the briskness of his step and the cool control with which he held every action and every word. He was distracted by a new project , one that was completely foreign to him, and was unwilling to divulge details until the proper time came.

[He would offer a salute, but he had a feeling that it wouldn't even be seen.

Instead he waited for Law in the barracks, hanging around the back corner to observe the passage of people through the building. His many nights smoking or haphazardly training with Smoker had made the building feel almost like a second home to him, and it's pull was strong enough that Lupin found himself there even without his memories. The idea of the heady cigar smoke that always clung to the Vice Admiral had been one of the triggers that helped him realize the truth...and ultimately helped his current problem to become apparent.

He wasn't sure whether his decision was wise or not, but it was as it was. Lupin wasn't going to forget that look in his eyes anytime soon.]

I prefer a more mental exhaustion, but I do see the appeal.

Sounds like you've gotten what you deserve.

It's not worth saying ominous things like "It won't be pretty" to someone. That's actually kinda rude.

Say what you want, but my workshop is well off of the beaten path. The only ones who should even have a clue about it are you guys in CH 5. Last I checked, the only ones who would be interested in my project are you and Fujiko.

I all ready found the culprit. I just want to know how she found it.

I have. It seems that she's another redhead who had a few lies written on her card last week. Unfortunately, she's far to young for me to even want to play with.

[Amnesia. Memory distortion. That is something he has experienced in his world. Multiple times.]

They might. They might not. That's a hard question to answer, but I like to think that the memories we lose still exist in our heart. Even if we've gone back to living and are too busy to remember immediately, there might come a time when we will be still enough to do so.

I'm afraid I do not know this Grune you speak of, but I'll keep an eye out for any other deities.

[Not discussing the sleeping Vulcan would be best for everyone, because Lupin wasn't certain that he even believed that their accident had actually happened. But it did, and he was never going to forget the agonized intensity that he witness in those eyes. He nodded, grateful, and guided her into an adjacent room.

Lupin flicked the light on. It was a bare room with no decorations, only a wooden floor and a series of mirrors on the far wall. He and Smoker liked to use it on the occasions when Lupin's own restlessness had gotten the better of him. The open space was excellent for practicing forms--or other acrobatics.

[The first thing Spock notices is warmth... that is a rather pleasing discovery. He appears to be wrapped in several layers of quilted covering... and there is a rather archaic device that has the purpose of giving off heat. Curious.]

[Spock is also disinclined to move anytime soon. But his mental clock is off, and he should locate Arsene... Well, that thought brings up a lot to consider. Perhaps seeing Arsene at the moment would not be beneficial. He needs to get home....]

[Spock carefully turns his head to locate an exit... he appears to be still in the barracks where they had their previous conversation. He peals the blankets off of him and gently plants his feet on the floor then stands. He's a little unbalanced at first but regains his equilibrium and makes for the door quietly....]

A threat like that doesn't carry much weight in Luceti, though. I'll get your stuff back to you, but not because you threatened me.

[Lupin noticed Spock's furtive movements from his position at the end of a hallway. He had never strayed far from Spock's 'room' over the last few days, and he remained on alert for any deviation in Spock's condition. Though he leaned against the wall with an unlit cigarette dangling from his lips in an overt display of nonchalance, nothing in the surrounding room escaped his notice.

A note was quickly written and thrown at Spock's back--he wanted the Vulcan's attention, and a negative answer would not be accepted.]
