I mean, maybe those of us who went missing for the day were spared some strange, dark influence ocnjured up by the Malnosso because they wanted to rival the Emperor and spread distrust and discontent amongst the population, then laugh and drink their blue milk as we destroy each other. For a week everyone will be dead, and everyone will have forgotten any of this happened.
