3rd Turn [Action/Video] Between the 20th and the 24th

[The thief Arsene Lupin III is at it again. The video feed opens to him staring good naturedly at the camera, a relatively calm smile on his face as compared to his usual excess in energy. Astute observers wil notice that he has donned a green jacket instead of his usual red, perhaps in a subconscious attempt to match his style with the current mellow and chilly weather.

Just when the smile and stare starts to become a little awkward, he decides to speak:]

Hey, Luceti! Do any of you remember that wierd Horoscope thing that happened just after Thanksgiving? Yeah...I'm still having a little problem left over from that, and I was wondering if some of you could help a guy out.

[The feed shifts so that Lupin is no longer on screen. Instead, the audience is treated to a view of...a veritable mess. In a bedroom in one of the apartments from the Community Houses there is a horde of junk. Literally. Stuffed animals, kitchen ware, paper goods, clothing items, and other miscellany are gathered in the room, with a minor semblence of order. Everything is sorted by type of item and nothing more.

The only notable single item stack is a pile of panties partially hidden from view in a corner.

If anyone who has noticed his random appearances and disappearances from the Barracks within the last few weeks and wondered where he was when he wasn't parked in the trees with his binoculars--this is what he has been doing.]

One of my 'predictions' was that I would inadvertently steal things. Turns out I did; I just don't remember any of it. All of this? Yeah. This was all stolen during that week. I've spent the last month digging everything up.

[He sighs dramatically.] There might still be more too...

I'm not asking you guys to believe me when I say all this, and I'm not trying to show off or brag. I was hoping that you guys could come and look through this stuff and take it off me. I really don't want it.

[The feed flips back to his face, his expression one of complete acceptance. People who didn't know him would never guess that such grand scale theft without memory is out of character for him. He's not a kleptomaniac. He's just constantly hungry for a challenge.]

Another thing. For the people who missed the announcement before, I'm planning on having a Casablanca movie day on Christmas Eve with Fujiko. It seems only good and fair to invite other people, so feel free to drop in if you have no one else to hang out with for Christmas. If someone can help me figure out how to set it up for people to watch through the journals, that'd be awesome.

The Samurai came back unscathed, right? With the memories of much ass kicked that wasn't his own, right?

[Don't mind him. He's trying to make a joke.]

Anyway, just wanted to let you know that we're doing the usual on Christmas. Wining, dining, Kampai... Oh. We're also having our little meeting then. We kind of had a blizzard when you were gone, and there's really no telling how the weather will be at the end of this week. You might want to come up here early and be prepared to stay, just in case.

[The feed closes abruptly after this. The thief obviously can't be bothered with showmanship at this point. He'll have the offer to come and 'shop' open from the 20th onward, and the channels are left open to contact him via Journal. He's been rooming with Zenigata in CH 5 for the moment, so any residents are welcome to drop in.

The 24th finds him setting up for Casablanca. If you have the expertise to set it up to stream through the journal, feel free to contact him. Otherwise, drop by Fujiko's place on the top level of CH 5. Don't worry; there will be drinks, and all of the traps have been taken down.]

[He had been about to whine about how much he liked the idea of digging through bins when Donatello came up with the idea. It was intriguing. He liked where it was going.]

...They can pass it along, I gotcha! They probably wouldn't want much to do with projectile grappling hooks or dolls anyway. They might put up a fight for a bunch of lockpicking and jailbreaking equipment, though.

Thanks for the tip. I'm still new-ish around here, so that's news to me.

Exactly. There might be some fights, but right now people take things without even knowing someone else wanted them. Maybe the shopkeepers could help enforce a reservation system.

[He laughs.] I've been here a long time and I'm kicking myself for not thinking of this sooner.

[He laughs along too.]

It's a pretty good idea, really. Though, I don't know how well it will be enforced. I've heard things about people not liking rules and stuff around here...

[He doesn't say that he's among them. Fujiko probably told her turtle friends all about that, among the other stories she told.]

[Never mind that for now.]

So, grappling hooks and lockpicks? [This is equipment he is familiar with.]

Pretty basic stuff, I know. I'm just having a hard time finding them...consciously, at least. There might be something workable in that mess you saw earlier, but that's gonna take a long time to find.

Lots of patience is needed. And lots of digging.

[A few moments' pause, and then the journal's camera clicks on to show a fairly extensive set of lockpicks, neatly laid out on a cloth.]

[What do you think of that?]

[There's a long, appreciative whistle at this display.]

Wow. You're pretty prepared. And good.

[He preferred smaller kits himself for general use. They were easier to hide in his sleeves or the folds of his suit, and less bulky overall.]

[A sense of scale may be missing from the image - this kit, when rolled up, is small enough to be tucked into Don's belt.]

[A pair of green tridactyl hands rapidly sets out a gleaming dagger, a small pile of shuriken, a pair of shuko spikes, and some small black orbs that may or may not be recognizable as explosives.]

Ninja gear. Never leave home without it.

[He laughs, partly in delight and partly at the absurdity that he's really talking to a turtle that happens to be a ninja.]

You really must be a boyscout then! I like to travel pretty light myself--though, I have to ask. Where did you get the fire crackers?

Made them.

[And "travelling light" is all relative. Don doesn't think this stuff is heavy.]

....I dunno why Fujiko didn't introduce us sooner!

[As a man who is more likely to conjure an exploding cigarette than shoot a gun, he appreciates this skill. Deeply.]

[Who knows why Fujiko does anything?]

Do you want some?

I'd love them.

[He pauses, letting it hang for a moment. Dramatic purposes always drove him, no matter the scenario.]

But, now that I know the stuff to make them is here, I think I'll have more fun putting a few together myself. Gotta keep my hands busy, you know.

[There's a sigh now, and an easier smile.]

I feel a little ashamed for not finding the stuff sooner. I've only been here for about a month, and most of that has been spend with trying to gather and process data. Lots of data.

[You earn a lot of respect for this - though at the same time Don is disappointed, because you're stealing his fun.]

I'm used to digging through junk.

But if I can ask - what kind of data?

You can ask...[Just don't expect a straight reply.]

Mostly its been standard newbie stuff. We don't really have people with magic or powers or anything where we come from, so I've been looking into that. Also, I've been looking into the journals for information that relates to the current situation around here, how people feel about it, the extent of what we can do.

... How would you feel about joining my science club?

...I'm a trickster and a thief, Donatello, not a Chem Major. I only do what I do because these things aren't sold wholesale to a known criminal. Still, it is a tempting offer...

[Well, he let Dr. Eggman join...]

It's almost more a detective society than a science club. We're looking for researchers and investigators, not physicists. I'm a ninja. One of the other members is a soldier. I think we can make room for a thief.

If I were a different kind of man, I'd be all over this, but right now I think its best if I keep my efforts solo for the moment. I'm working on something, and I don't want too many people involved right yet.

[The thief won't say, but Don's already been added to his 'inform of cool stuff' list. Along with...all of two other people who aren't among his business partners.

Dishonest as he is, he is surprised by the offer.]

...if it's not a pain. I'm just a new guy, and plenty self sufficient. [Quick smile.] I won't complain, though.

Consider me a part-timer then. It's too early for me to want to commit to anything, but you look like you have a pretty cool style over there.

[He will now try a variation of a trick he uses on his brothers.]
