Info on playstyle choices:
If there is one thing I cannot stress enough about the Lupin III franchise, its that there is an extremely flexible, floating timeline in effect in any and all parts of it. I like to term this 'Shroedinger's Canon'--Everything is at once canon and not canon until you start to examine it. Upon examination, there are contradictions left and right because no one writer is in control.
Thus, everything is left up to the writer. The original manga by Monkey Punch is very different from the Green Jacket series, which is itself very different from Castle of Cagliostro and the recent TV Specials. There is no one continuity. It is all continuity.
Very zen, right?
This is where the discrepencies come into play. Everyone remembers the Red Jacket series, with reason. It spanned over 100 episodes, defined the mythos, and provided an anchor for many, many classic anime series to build their base upon. This fact, while simple and helped popularize the franchise, is not the basic depiction I am going with.
I'm going with a TV Specials Era Lupin, with Green Jacket as a base and heavy influences of Castle of Cagliostro. If he comes across as too much of a gentleman and schemer in my hands, that's because he is a schemer in Green Jacket and a gentleman in Cagliostro. I try to acknowledge Red Jacket and Pink Jacket, but my knowledge of Red is minimal and Pink is almost nil. I'm also not familiar with the original manga at all, but Monkey Punch went for a very different kind of characterization to begin with.
Some aspects of Red Jacket will be written off because of this, because sitting down to watch 100+ episodes on a tight schedule is tough. Pink Jacket...will be written off as some sad choices in his youth (because I can't find Pink at all!)
I also have influences from the Leblanc novels as a base as well, because our man's backstory isn't elaborated on anywhere with any certainty of its factuality. Green Jacket calls the extent of Lupin's family into question, and the Green vs. Red special even calls into question whether 'Arsene Lupin III' is even his real name. Additionally, the Leblanc novels said nothing about our man's grandfather having a family. I've had to rely upon headcanon for some of these things, only for clarity of a backstory.

Thus, we now have the HMD:
Please let me know if I'm playing Lupin inconsistently with what you have seen. If you have any problems with my depiction, PM me and we can discuss it. I'm a budding writer, and constructive criticism is more than welcome. Also PM me if you have any questions, or want clarification. I don't bite, and I do try to keep things as clear and easy as possible.
